Event Hall & Year-Round Market
"Building Community in the Round"

Current Funding Need: ADA-focused enhancements, including ADA parking and ADA walkways, paved road access and related storm water management to build upon completed electrical, elevator, HVAC upgrades to establish a full-functioning marketplace on the first floor of the Bridge and Machine Shop building and outdoor seasonal market pavilion next to the building.

April 2024 Update: Work by GRC General Contractor, Inc. of Zullinger, Pa. to complete construction of elevator/stairs to provide ADA/handicap accessibility access to Second Floor is projected to be completed in April 2024. HVAC system installation by Appalachian Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. is now 80% complete and projected to complete in Spring 2024. Projects were funded through allocations by the Berkeley County Commission, City of Martinsburg and Legislative Economic Development Assistance (LEDA) grants awarded by State Lawmakers and approved by Gov. Jim Justice.

Mirroring the Capitol Market in Charleston, W.Va., our vision is attract year-round tenants and host a seasonal farmers market to provide fresh produce from Berkeley County and the greater Eastern Panhandle region in what is currently a "food desert" in the City of Martinsburg. Combined with must-see historic "edu-tainment" attractions and other community activities, the Marketplace project is anticipated to attract 3,000 people per day and create more than 45 jobs in the first year of operation.
